A Goodwill or Global Ambassador is someone who expands the knowledge of others regarding their or another country's culture and its people. Celebrities such as Angelina Jolie and Russell Simmons receive invitations. There are no applications-you must have political connections.
Instructions
1. Apply for a passport. If you already have a passport, make sure it has not expired.
2. Cultivate relationships with politicians. You can start with local government. Involve yourself in issues, pass out flyers-do what's needed to prove yourself to be a hard worker, willing to do what needs to be done for the good of your community. Even making coffee will indicate your dedication.
3. Involve yourself with high profile philanthropic organizations to make a name for yourself. Regular Joes and Janes aren't invited to be U.N. Goodwill Ambassadors. Make sure the organizations are those that you love. Passion will keep you going when enthusiasm runs low. After awhile, people are usually able to see through those who are opportunists and those who are genuine.
4. Tell those politicians you become acquainted with of your desire to be a Goodwill Ambassador. Make conversation first, finding about their interests and how you can help. It's never a good idea to blurt out what you want right after being introduced.
