Lowcost Baby Gift Ideas

Teething rings make great baby gifts.

Babies are usually not very difficult to choose gifts for. They have their many necessities, such as bottles, diapers and clothes. They also have their toys, and anyone who spends time with a baby will tell you that it does not take a lot of expensive toys to make an infant happy. They can be just as excited about a gift that cost you $1 as they are about a gift that cost you $100.

Gift baskets make great presents. You can purchase low-cost gift baskets that provide the parents with necessary products for taking care of their child, including toys, baby powder and teething rings. Often, buying a gift basket with all of these items inside of it is less expensive than buying all of the products separately and assembling your own basket.

Give the baby a children's book, personalized with a picture of you and the baby together or a note written by you for the baby. Although the infant cannot read it herself yet, she will grow up with something special from you that she can use later to help her learn read.

Buy an infant support pillow for the baby. You can purchase plain or patterned baby pillows or you can buy ones that are shaped like animals such as monkeys or wolves. Infant pillows help to support babies who haven't fully mastered the art of sitting up.

Make a diaper cake for the parents. A diaper cake is made from diapers that have been stacked to resemble a cake. You can add small items to the cake, such as teething rings and pacifiers. You can also use a small baby toy as a cake topper for the diaper cake.

Shop online at websites that sell baby supplies and toys. Most online stores offer clearance items and free shipping. You may be able to find bouncy seats and other items at a discount price. Also, look for "on sale" items and free samples for babies.
