Get Into Clickbank Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketers earn a percentage of sales through advertising campaigns.

Affiliate marketing is a simple concept: you find buyers for products and when the sale is made, you earn a percentage of it as a product promoter. If you have ever done a search on Google, you have seen the advertisements that pop up on the top and right side of the page. Those pop-up advertisements are from affiliate marketers trying to make a sale. Almost anyone with an Internet connection can become an affiliate marketer.

Instructions

1. Get an account with Clickbank. Clickbank is a service that matches affiliate marketers with vendors selling electronic products. Vendors keep track of all sales and pay marketers weekly.

Register as an affiliate on Clickbank's website. The site walks you through the registration process and explains everything you need to know about using the service.

2. Get an Adwords account through Google. Adwords is Google's advertising program. With Adwords, you bid on keywords people search for on Google. When someone searches for the keyword you bid on, your advertisement appears on the search results page. How close to the top of the first page your ad appears depends on how high you have bid for that keyword. If site visitors click on your advertisement, Google charges your account on a bidding scale, generally between $.05 and $5, depending on the popularity of the keyword you bid on.

Go to Google.com and click on "Advertising Programs" beneath the search box. Click on "Adwords" and follow the registration process. Google has amassed a large series of tutorials to help you get the most from its service.

3. Find products to promote. Return to Clickbank and search its "marketplace" for products to promote. Search for a product in a category that is familiar to you. Filter the results by gravity, a number Clickbank assigns affiliate products. Look for products that have a gravity rating of between 75 and 125. The higher the rating, or popularity, the more likely the sales. Products with these ratings cost less money to promote in an ad campaign.

When you find a product you want to promote, click on it to receive your "hoplink." Your hoplink is how Clickbank knows that you helped make a sale. If you run an Adwords advertisement without your hoplink attached, you will not get paid.

4. Set up your advertising campaign. Return to Adwords and follow Google's recommendations for setting up a campaign. Use your hoplink ID in your advertisements. Let your campaign run.

5. Track your campaign. Look at how many people are clicking on your ads versus how many sales you are making. Adjust your advertisements so that you have more people clicking the link and buying than clicking the link and leaving the site. Every time someone clicks on your advertisement, it costs you money, so keeping a higher ratio of buyers compared to browsers is how affiliate marketers turn a profit.
