Restore Rac And Rman To The Point In Time

The Oracle Recovery Manager, or RMAN, allows you to restore databases on your computer by using Oracle-method command line procedures. For example, you can run a command to restore a database cluster from a specific point in time. Real Application Clusters, or RAC, are clusters used to open a single database, and if you experience any technical issues with the RAC, you can completely restore the RAC database back to a time when it was working properly.

Instructions

1. Click the "Start" button on your computer's taskbar and then select the "All Programs" option.

2. Click the "Oracle Recovery Manager" option from the list of programs and the application will then launch.

3. Enter your user name and password, and press the "Enter." Type "recover" into the command line.

4. Press "Enter" and you'll enter recover mode. Type "database" to specify that you want to recover the database that includes the RAC.

5. Type "To Restore Point" into the command line and press "Enter." Type the name of the restore point and press "Enter." The RAC will be completely restored.
