Promote An Ebay Store

You've set up your eBay store and are ready to handle a high volume of orders, but no one's bidding. If you want your eBay store to be a viable business, you need to make sure buyers are aware of your products. Your work doesn't end once the auctions are listed. You also need to promote your store.

Instructions

1. Include your store's web address in your online correspondence. This can include the signature in your email, on Internet discussion forums and your personal web page.

2. Print promotional flyers and send them with your orders. Mailing magnets with your store's name and web address is another option for attracting repeat buyers.

3. Search for similar products using Internet search engines. Pay attention to which key words bring up the most hits. Then include those key words in your store's name and description.

4. Register a domain name. Ebay has an option that sends buyers automatically to your store's home page when they type in your domain name. Choose a domain name that's catchy and easy to remember.

5. Create an "About Me" page on eBay and use it to advertise your store. Post on eBay's discussion boards and make sure your store's name is included in your signature. This is your chance to reach eBay members who aren't specifically searching for your products.

6. Use eBay's marketing tools. Ebay offers email marketing, listing feeds, personalized flyers and other tools to help you promote your store. You can access these tools by clicking on the "marketing tools" link on your "My eBay" page.

7. Purchase business cards with your name, email address, the store's name and the store's web address. By passing out business cards, you can build a local clientele. Local buyers can potentially buy directly from you, allowing you to avoid listing fees and shipping costs.
