Send Email Advertising

Use email to increase your sales.

If you're looking for a cheap, fast and easy way to reach customers, then it's time to try email advertising. Email advertising lets you reach thousands of customers at one time, with minimal time. You create one basic message. Target past customers who registered an email address with your company or target potential customers of a specific type. Increase your sales and turn potential customers into new ones.

Instructions

1. Start an email registry at your shop and encourage customers to sign your registry. According to WS Promotion, the most successful email advertising is sent to customers willing to accept the messages, as opposed to sending them to others. Offer customers a discount or some incentive to share their email address.

2. Create an advertisement to send to the customers. Give your customers a reason to open the email and read it, such as a free gift with purchase or a discount. If you're worried about losing money, make the benefit available only to the first 50-100 respondents who mention the email when they shop.

3. Write a compelling headline. The headline is the first thing your customers see, and if it's too plain or standard, they might not click the ad. Use a headline that relates to your business, such as "Free Gifts for Shopping at Store X" or "Store X's Annual Sale," to give your readers an idea of what the ad holds.

4. Test the messages, watching to see what works and what isn't as effective. Try out all of your ideas, working on one at a time. Watch how customers respond and what ads get them into the store and make them spend more money.

5. Send the best message to your customers, but give them a way to leave your mailing list too. Pick the message that worked the best on your client base and edit it down to the most important information. Send that out to each customer on your list. Include information at the end of the email that gives your customers a way to opt out of the mailing list or advertising.
