Increase Ticket Sales For Concerts

Sell more tickets to your next concert.

Live concerts showcase a band's work in its purest form. By increasing concert ticket sales, a band can widen its audience and increase its profits. Fortunately, there are many different media outlets available that a band can use to advertise its music, build a fanbase, and sell more seats to its next gig.

Instructions

1. Offer extra benefits for the first people who purchase tickets. For example, you can provide pre-concert meet-and-greet with the musicians or better seating at a reduced price. This can be the first 15, 25, or 50 ticket buyers depending on the size of the venue.

2. Join forces with other local bands. This may decrease individual bands' profits, but is good move if it brings more people to the concert.

3. Combine the concert with another event. Organize a battle of the bands or a colorful themed party. A themed party attracts people who may not be familiar with the band but do enjoy dancing to live music and dressing up in costumes. Include some cover songs in your set list, but if your style goes well with theme, original music can be thrown in as well.

4. Work with local radio stations to promote the concert. Ask the station to hold an on-air interview with the band members, throw one or two songs into its usual rotation, or mention the concert while speaking between songs.

5. Contact local music journalists. Like radio DJs, they may interview the band for an article or mention the concert on an events page. Give the journalist a recording of the band's music beforehand, and if she likes what she hears, you may gain a new fan who can promote future events.

6. Advertise in print. Place an ad in a local newspaper or magazine. Printed flyers make surprisingly effective tools, also. A simple, bold graphic design intrigues potential concertgoers and says more about the band's style than any written description.

7. Advertise online. Make a html code for the concert flyer and embed it on your band's blog and social networking page. Ask your friends to embed the code on their pages as well. Create an event page for the concert on the social networking site and set up a link where people can buy tickets.

8. Keep a contact list of people who bought tickets from you in the past. Send them email alerts when a new show is coming up to remind them to buy tickets for it.
