Get Free Print Advertising

Get Free Print Advertising

Print advertising is a necessity for many businesses. Newspaper readers often buy the products and services featured in print advertisements. The catch is that these highly effective ads are often quite expensive, especially if your business has no advertising budget. Luckily, there are some ways you can get free print advertising.

Instructions

1. Volunteer to work at smaller papers in return for free ad space. This technique does not work with larger, daily papers. However, smaller community and niche based papers might offer free space if you handle some delivery duties for a month.

2. Offer a trade to the paper in return for ads. This is different than volunteering because you will provide your company's services in return for the ads. A great example is a restaurant that caters the newspaper's lunch once a week for free advertisements.

3. Enter your business in contests. Some newspapers hold contests and give out various prizes. Once in a while they offer advertising space as a prize. Keep your eye out, as they usually come from the smaller, non-daily papers.

4. Approach the advertising manager of a paper and suggest a charitable donation. If your company is a 501(C)3 non-profit organization, it is possible for the newspaper to write off your advertisement as a charitable donation. If ad sales are slow that week, it is a definite possibility.

5. Seek out investors to fund your advertising. This is similar to the trade deal you can offer a paper, except you give investors free services in trade for your product. For example, if you own a lawn care company, perhaps you can mow the investor's lawn in trade for ad money.
