Pay for your eBay purchase using a gift card.
Gift cards are a fun and easy way to make purchases on eBay. If you've received an eBay gift card, you can use it as you would use PayPal and your own money. To complete the transaction when making a purchase using an eBay gift card, you must have an eBay account and a PayPal account. The seller of the item must also list PayPal as an accepted form of payment for you to be able to use the gift card.
Instructions
1. Bid on and win the item that you'd like to purchase, or use the "Buy Now" option to purchase the item. Check that the seller accepts PayPal and that the price of the item is in U.S. currency, Canadian currency, Pounds Sterling or Euros, depending on where the seller is located.
2. Click "Pay Now" to being the checkout transaction. You must pay for the item within 10 days of winning or choosing to purchase it.
3. Choose "PayPal" from the payment options. The site will redirect you to PayPal, where you can log in using your account information.
4. Scroll down on the "Check Payment Detail" page until you see the area called "Redemption Codes."
5. Input the redemption code on your gift card into the allotted area on the page.
6. Click "Apply" to add the gift card to the order, and then click "Update Total" to see if any additional funding is necessary to complete the transaction.
7. Complete your purchase as normal. If you did not use the entire amount of the gift card, the remainder will be added to your PayPal account so that you can use it for your next eBay purchase.
