Pizza Marketing Ideas

There is a lot of competition in the pizza-selling industry, so that means that a successful pizza shop owner needs to constantly be thinking of new ways to get more business to his restaurant. Selling pizzas for a living is not easy, and a profitable pizza business benefits from sound marketing advice.

Team Up with the Community

An effective marketing technique is to team up with the local board of education, or a local charity, and donate portions of your profits to that charity. Show the community that you are willing to give back some of what you make, and turn that into an event each time you do it. Advertise a special night, or week, where a percentage of the profits you make from that week will go to the local school district or a local charity. If you work with the local school district or charity, then those organizations can help you get the word out and bring more business to your restaurant. The impact is greater when you limit these charitable giveaways to only a few times a year, but the goodwill generated within the community will last all year long for your pizza business. In this situation you win with more business, the community wins because everyone gets to enjoy pizza and donate to a charity without giving any extra money, and the local school district or charity wins because it gets needed funding.

Coupons

If you put coupons where people will see them, they will use those coupons in your store. Put coupon circulars in the local newspapers, or sign up for the local coupon publications that get mailed to the community. Make the specials something that people will want to use like a percentage off or a dollar discount for spending a certain amount of money in one order. Create meal combinations that put popular foods together such as pizza and pasta or pizza and chicken wings. Always make your coupons applicable to your most popular items to help increase the chances that new customers will use them. Offer coupons at least once a month, and get as much exposure for your coupons as you possibly can in as many local publications as you can afford.

Give Free Samples

Local businesses always appreciate free food, and if you create a contest that gives away free pizza to select businesses you will wind up with a load of new referrals and new customers. Have a running contest where you award free pizza to a select number of businesses each week; they enter by submitting letters to your company using their letterhead or dropping off a business card when they are in your restaurant. A contest with free samples will generate interest, and you can use that interest to generate more business.
