Real estate agents can use CRS principles to better sell houses.
CRS certification is one of several solutions to provide real estate agents -- and those wanting to become real estate agents -- with the training needed to be successful at selling real estate. CRS certification involves both classroom and online training, and can be completed in most areas of the country. CRS provides members with many benefits including discounts on trainings, and a person can become a member prior to training completion.
CRS Membership
People who are members of the Council of Residential Specialists receive many benefits, including the ability to display the CRS symbol of excellence, network of CRS referrals, participation in CRS courses, news and networking, shopping and marketing tools, and promotional materials. An annual membership costs $150 and a person can either print out an application or apply online.
CRS Class Delivery Methods
There are four main methods of class delivery for CRS classes. These methods are: online, using web based instruction; webinars, either live or prerecorded; two-day conferences, held in locations around the country; and CD-ROM classes. There are also audio libraries available of selected conferences.
CRS Class Topics
There are many class titles available to assist with different functions of the realtor's job. These include military relocation, creating value for clients, and use Facebook and YouTube to assist with selling real estate. There is a major conference each year called sell-a-bration, which helps CRS members learn new sales techniques. The sell-a-bration sessions are always released in an audio library so that those who were not there can still learn from the experts that were in the sessions.
Other Realtor Certifications and Memberships
The CRS certification is one of several Realtor certifications and memberships. Others endorsed by the National Association of Realtors include Accredited Buyer's Representative, Accredited Land Consultant, and Counselors of Real Estate.
