Maximize Commission Junction Earnings

Commission Junction advertisers pay by clicks, sales, or leads.

Commission Junction is one of the largest affiliate programs on the web. Members are paid by advertisers to promote products and services on their websites and blogs. Learn maximize your CJ earnings by choosing advertisers that pay for leads rather than for sales.

Instructions

1. First, you need an account at Commission Junction. It is free to sign up. CJ only allows its products and services to be promoted on websites and blogs. You may not promote the products on social media like Facebook and Twitter. You must have your own website.

2. Next, start looking through the list of advertisers and products. Make sure you choose products and services that relate to your blog or website. For example, if your blog is about technology, you would choose services such as VOIP or products such as computer accessories.

3. When you examine the way an advertiser pays out, you will notice that advertisers pay by clicks, sales, or leads. A lead is when a customer signs up for a free trial or in some way provides his contact information to the advertiser. Try to choose advertisers that pay for leads rather than for sales or clicks.

4. You will notice that leads pay much more than sales or clicks. This is because the advertiser is looking for a long term relationship with a customer - they will make money from a customer for many months or even years. Also, it is much easier to get one of your website visitors to sign up to get something free than to get him to spend money on a product or service. Getting a person to part with his money is much harder than getting him to sign up for something free.

5. Look for leads that pay the most. Some advertisers pay $15, $20, or even up to $50 per lead. It is just as easy to promote an advertiser who pays $20 per lead as it is to promote an advertiser who pays 5o cents per lead. Just make sure the products and services you choose will interest your readers.
