Ideas For Outdoor Advertising About Bikes

Advertise where your audience rides.

According to the "Denver Business Journal," one of the advantages of outdoor advertising is that the ad is available for viewing around the clock. Employ outdoor advertising to work for you wherever your audience may roam. Keep signage clear, so in an instant the passerby knows you have a bike shop and find it. Keep ads consistent so that no matter where someone sees them, there is immediate recognition.

Use of a Bike

Choose a unique bike to add above signage.

Consider getting a sign designed that will incorporate a bike. The bike can be real or a mockup of a real bike without usable gears. Choose an unusual bike to catch the eye of anyone driving by. A custom tricked-out bike, wildly painted road bike, unique antique bike, a tandem or unicycle should do the trick. Attach the bike to the top of the sign so it is visible to drivers coming from either direction.

Digital Display

Consider a digital display.

If your budget allows for a digital sign, display changing photos of individual riders. Digitize photographs of satisfied customers with their new bikes, run displays of a ride or race the bike shop has sponsored or simply employ a running ticker digital display of animated bikes. Check with your legal department prior to using images of real riders. Rider permission is typically required.

Brand Recognition

Choose a logo unique to your bike shop.

Have an artist create a logo to use on all signage that will incorporate a bike. Keep the logo unique, clean, direct and simple so that when used in print ads, business cards, stationary and on your website it will become a brand easily recognized by potential customers. Keep the logo large and prominent when it's used on billboards, benches, vehicles and other sizable outdoor advertising venues.
