Ways To Increase Sales

ABC- Always Be Closing

A career in sales can be lucrative and rewarding. You can improve your customers' lives by offering quality products, affordable prices and modern conveniences--all while earning a living. Increasing sales can be challenging, but in order to keep up with inflation, it is a must.

Instructions

1. Relate to your customer. Do not view them as a mark, sales goal or trip to an exotic island. Your customer is a person and will be more apt to buy from you if you treat them as such.

2. Listen to your customer. If they say they do not want a certain aspect of your product, take note. If you sell cars and a customer tells you they do not want power windows, honor their wishes and move on. Tailor your pitch to the actual needs and wants of your customer.

3. Don’t get too excited. If you speak too quickly, sweat or stumble over your words, your client may not believe you are listening to them. They may feel that you are rushing them or that you are inexperienced.

4. Sometimes, in an effort to calm nerves, sales people may present a facade of disinterest. No customer wants to buy from someone who does not care.

5. Offer alternatives in different price ranges and honestly discuss benefits and drawbacks of each. Not all customers can afford the highest-end product you offer, but you can still make money. Know your product well enough to offer lower priced alternatives. Make sure they understand why the item is lower in price, but also discuss its benefits.

6. Deliver on the promises you make. Many people find that they can significantly increase sales with purchases made by repeat customers. If you build a foundation with a customer and do not disappoint them, they'll be back, sometimes with a friend.
